As outlined in our whole school homework policy (PDF 125KB), homework is an important part of your learning. At The Hills Sports HS centre there is an expectation that students will:

  • Be assigned suitable homework tasks on a regular basis
  • Complete these tasks to the best of their ability
  • Complete these tasks on time
  • Be provided with appropriate and timely feedback

Some examples of homework include:

  • Creative responses and writing essays
  • Consolidation and/or extension exercises
  • Reading and responding activities
  • Surveys/questionnaires and practical tasks
  • Research tasks including the use of the Internet
  • Projects including films etc.
  • Making entries using educational platforms such as Edmodo

Homework Requirements:

  • Students unable to complete homework due to unforeseen circumstance must provide a letter from home, signed by the parent/caregiver.
  • If homework is not submitted for 3 consecutive weeks, parents/caregivers will be contacted and a letter of concern will be sent to the home of the student and their weekday school.
  • The supervisor will interview the parent/caregiver and student if the pattern of non-completion of homework continues.
  • In Year 10, 11 and 12, non-completion of homework could lead to the issuing of an "N" Warning Letter.
