As outlined in our whole school homework policy (PDF 125KB) , homework is an important part of your learning. At the Chatswood HS centre all students are expected to complete the assigned homework to reinforce learning as part of their language courses. Failure to submit homework will result in the following action being taken:

Years 7 to 9

1st time: verbal warning with diary entry

2nd time: teacher to inform parent/caregiver

3rd time: parent and student to attend an interview with the teacher

Years 10 to 12

2nd time: teacher to inform parent/caregiver

3rd time: 1st N Award Warning Letter

4th time: 2nd N Award Warning Letter

5th time: N Award

Teachers are to:

  • ensure that homework is related to the class work
  • promptly check homework and provide appropriate and timely feedback to students
  • maintain homework records
  • keep records of warnings given in their teacher's handbook
  • issue warnings and call parent/caregiver to arrange interviews
  • issue letters to students as appropriate
  • follow up the issue by ensuring that students return homework letters signed the following Saturday.
